Scrappy Jacket

This is a jacket, actually it is the second jacket I have made with a technique which uses fabric scraps. Imagine Patty using scraps??!? Basically I take itty bitty scraps and sew them together, then I sew these units together, and then repeat, repeat, and repeat until I have created yards and yards of "scrappy crazy quilt fabric". I then cut the fabric into 4 inch squares. For this project I used a men's large, hunter green, sweatshirt as a base. I cut the seams open and laid the sweatshirt out flat. I sewed rows and rows of 4" crazy quilt squares to the sweatshirt. Once the entire sweatshirt was covered, I re-sewed the seams and cut a line down the center front (so the sweatshirt would open like a jacket). I then sewed a dark green/black print on as a binding....pooof. I am almost done. I still need to add decorative stitches and some quilting as a finishing touch. I want to add a pocket to....because I can! Enjoy the pics. Talk soon.... Patty
